Truethfully I'd stay out of Gatlinburg. Way crowded. I'd recommend staying in Townsend. Less expensive and less crowded.

The Blue Ridge is a nice ride but watch your speed. Fines are high and it is patroled well.
Cades Cove is neat to see but slow moving.
The Cherohala is a must ride. I like it more than the Dragon.
You really can't go wrong. Lots of good riding around the area.

I agree, with Cades Cove, but only the paved road heading back. Once you get to the dirt road portion TURN AROUND. Its stop n go back there, mostly stop, as the cages sightsee the area. The ride back can be slow as well, but the view is great with plenty of spots to stop.

Gatlinburg can be crowded too. We stayed at the Tudor Inn right downtown, walked around town mostly, rode in and out of town early or late to avoid traffic. Pigeon Forge can get damned awful busy too. Swing off onto Veterans byway to avoid some of it if you can.

Watch for falling rock on the BRP, but the view is breath-taking. Gatlinburg to Cherokee is "thumbs up". Bubba Gump's Restaurant in Gatlinburg has great food, great atmosphere, & great drinks! Have a great time.

TN rte 165 - NC rte 143 = tellico to robbinsonville.
Awesome ride - October: pack/wear a thick jacket and gloves! It gets cold up in them thar hills!! Watchout for TN Police......they will pull you, don't cross the yellow lines..

But most of all.........have fun!
