Sturgis 2010, My trip report. Including pics.
Early this summer, me and my wife went with a group of friends to the Beartooth rally, then some of us went on to Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Montana and back home to Alberta. So my wife was holidayed out, my friends didn't want to take another trip, but I was keen on Sturgis. So I did the trip solo.
It was a bit of a whirlwind trip, left on Thursday the 5th, got down there friday, left for home on Sunday got home monday the 9th. About 1500km each way plus another 500 around the area, I put on 3500km.
All I can say is it was an excellent adventure. Usually I'm pretty much introverted and would not consider going out to party on my own. But holy crap did I ever have a good time. I stayed across the highway from the Full Throttle at a quiet little campground, the name escapes me. I liked it because it was cheap, I could leave my bike at my tent and walk to either the Full throttle or the monkey bar.
The Monkey bar had NO entertainment what so ever. It was almost completely empty except for about 10 customers. What a shame. I guess they don't start the entertainment until the Monday, too bad for them, their loss.
The Full Throttle on the other hand was absoultely rockin. The music was EXCELLENT, I really enjoyed it. Met tons of people, all really friendly. It was a great time. Went there both nights Friday and Saturday.
During the daytimes I was out and about on the bike enjoying the rides. Did the Devils Tower, not so impressive. Did the needles highway, through the tunnels and pig tail bridges etc, What an excellent ride.
Well, with no further adue, here are my pics from facebook. Just click on this link, you'll see the pictures as thumbnails, then click on the pictures to go through them. No need to sign in to facebook or have an account. This is a public link.

Hey Whiskeyrider, no I don't recall the lepercon. But things were getting to be a bit of a blurr as the night went on. I think it's the beer. I do remember dirty dancing with two of the young staffer girls who were pole dancing in front of the TV camera at the time. I barged my way through the crowd and made some pretty provocative moves to the girls and they responed very favorably. All on camera by the way. I then had to sign the obligatory waiver so they can use me on the TV show. I think I'm going to dread that when I see it. I'll probably just look like a drunk fool, but it was a memorable moment. I'm still smiling.

As long as your still smiling, thats all that counts. We got close to the cameras, but did not have to sign a waiver. Guess we won't be on camera, hope you are. I did like the show last year. If you are let us know, we won't tease you to much if you look bad, lol. Glad you had a great time,WR.
