fla panhandle beaches
I'll be riding along I-10 on my way to Savannah this weekend and hope to make a slight detour down through the Panama City Beach/Ft. Walton Beach area for one night or maybe two if I can swing it.
Never been there so can anybody recommend a hotel/motel close to the beach that won't break the bank? I know I'll be paying premium over something along I-10 but thought I just leave the gear in the room and walk to the beach, bars etc and not have to worry about riding back to the hotel.
Don't need much but don't want a rat hole either.
Ideas about a place to grab a beer and some good food would be appreciated too.

El governor
Mexico beach, 30 miles east of PC is El Govonor Motel. Ask for a room in the annex. you can park right out side the front door and the back doo is on the beach. No stairs, elevators etc. All rooms have kitchenetts; nice little bar and pool. it'll run ya about $100 buck though.
