Day Trip PA/NY/CT
Didn't stop for pictures, but I'll ride it again and take a little more time next time around.
Took PA 6 to 81 to 84 to the Tri-Corner where PA/NJ/NY come together, then got off the slab and took NY209 up to 44, across into the corner of CT, then down CT7 to 84 back home.
I haven't totalled up the mileage yet but it was approaching 500. Got some moderate rain coming over the ridges along 44 but as we came down in altitude it cleared off and the rest of the day was short sleeves and no helmet (except for that little piece running back across NY on 84).

Hey John ---- 84 OK? My son was on there with the car & told me bike's not recommended, but that's been a couple of months. You went right past Orange County Choppers --- if they're still there, that is! It's over near Newburgh, almost right at the intersection of 84 & 87 that goes to NYC. I'll give you a shout & you'll have to come over again sometime. Bunch of us thinking about going down to Cabella's for the day sometime soon.

Nice area.
Its also nice to ride south along the Delaware river, 209 south, to a short hop on 80 to get to the Delaware water gap and south on 611 then south on 32, loads of places to stop, hiking on the Appalachian trail (at the gap), views of the river and 200 plus year old houses, twisty roads, walking along the canal, loads of rest stops, foot bridges over the river, lots of good places to eat/drink, etc.
Goes all the way to Washingtons crossing/Trenton.
Off 209 at Marshals creek, stop in the tap room for some local flavor, and go on 402 to lake Walpalpack, stop in the inn at pecks pond for more local flavor, the great roads are almost endless in the area.
I have been up there at least 200 times and never get tired of it.
