The wife and I are planning a two day trip through the Smokeys with our overnight stop around Asheville. We are pretty flexible as to the location of that stop as we live in Chattanooga and should hav plenty of time for the ride I have planned. My question is: Does anyone know of a good place to stay and perhaps find some cold adult beverages? We'll be leaving on the 7/3 and going back to Chattanooga on Sunday?Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I usually stay off Tunnel Rd (Rt 70). right off BLP and about 3-4 miles.

plenty of food ,cold frosties (beer),and motel, hotels there

Do not remember motel name but it was walking distance to Hooters, less than a minute

hooters is crap. check out the thirsty monk downtown. they have a frikken beer menu and their staff knows what they're doing. tell them what you are looking for in a beverage and they'll hook you up. its always fun to challenge them with an oddball description because they'll surprise you with their knowledge.

asheville is awesome by the way. have fun.

If your budget allows it, stay at the Biltmore. It can be pricey, but what the heck, you only live once! We just stayed there and the OL loved it. Scored me lots of bonus points! (redeamable for chrome)

I was in Ashville this May, on the BRP, we stayed at a Holiday Inn, don't really remember which one, can't keep them straight, but there was a place right beside it call the Fiddling Pig, we had a great time there, they had a really good bluegrass band, good food, lots of fun, we closed the place down. I'm ussually a Classic Rock fan, but some Bluegrass was a great alternative.
