Default Las Vegas Ride Suggestions

My cousin and I will be in vegas over July 4th celebrating his 40th birthday, and we plan to rent Harley's and ride for the day. I have done lots of research, and many of the rides seem to be kept secret by the ride organizers. We have about 5 hours to ride, and are not interested in paid group rides. Can someone please give me some details on the following rides, and include any I missed. Roads and directions would be SWEET, we will be staying on the strip.

1. Red Rock Canyon

2. Lake Mead South Shores

3. Valley of Fire

4. Hoover Dam

Any feedback would be great, we will ride on Friday 7/2.

Kind of hot now but Death Valley is a good ride. If you go make sure you get down to Badwater. Immigrant Pass is also good. Turn off 190 about 10 miles west of Stove pipe wells.

5 hours isn't much, I spent that much time going thru the Hoover dam tour and checking out the new bridge

Seriously, if all you have is 5 hours, get on 95N towards Reno and go up to Mt. Charleston. I don't think you can get in ANY of the other rides in that time with the exception of Red Rock Canyon and the Charleston ride will give you better views PLUS get you up in the elevations out of the oven for a bit.

Leave early in the AM to beat the heat ,nothing really worth seeing if your to hot in the heat.Mount Charleston is a nice ride youll get 15 to 20 degree cooler weather .

Check out this website http://www.lasvegasharleydavidson.co...pg=sightseeing. They have ride maps posted to download. There are parts of the road at Lake Mead (mile marker 21 to 48) that are under construction and not biker friendly. With the heat (109 today) Mt Charleston is not a bad idea, when you come off of Mt Charleston you can go through Red Rock heading back to drop off your bike. Be safe.

Guys,
Thanks for the great feedback, looks like higher elevation and Red Rock canyon seems popular. I'll keep watching the post!

And call them in advance and get the GPS. Nothing worse then not knowing where you are or where your going and only 5 hours to get it all right.

Enjoy...
