Default Smokey mountains trip

Just booked a stay at these cabins;
Black Bear Lodging
640 Wears Valley Road
Pigeon Forge, TN 37863

Planning on riding for a few days and just kicking back and keeping the cell phone off, anyone else stay here and have any feedback?

I've stayed there before. If I remember right there is a
Black Bear sign by the road at the entrance. Gravel drive
I think. The cabins were older but maintained. If you go
east on Wears Valley you can take Lyons Spring Rd. to
Little River and come in the back of Gatliburg or drop down
to Cherokee, nice ride. Blue Ridge is right before Cherokee.
19 to 28 to 129, Deals Gap, Tail, Foothills Parkway back to
321 to Wears Valley is a good ride, you could ride this the
opposite direction.

I just recently stayed at Arrow Creek Campground cabins in Cosby, just a few miles from where you are staying. Avoid Pigeon Forge trafic by staying off the 4 land through town. The ride listed by WideBoy04 may be the best ride in the area. My preferred rout would be take Wears Valley road to Townsend, go right on 321. Go 4-5 miles and then left on Foothills Parkway. This will take you to 129 turn left and you will be on the Dragon. Ride it into NC left on 28 to Bryson City and through Cherokee then back across the mountains on 441. It is a great ride! Stop by Look Rock on the foothills parkway for great views.

Thumbs up

We didn't stay there, we stayed in Gatlinburg at a Days Inn with a creek running though it...real nice place to relax after riding...agree with everything Rick-e-b says....roads around the area are all nice with great views. Ride safe and have fun.

Isn't 129 still closed on the Tenn side by a rockslide?

Never stayed with them but I have stayed a couple of times over in Wears Valley. But no matter what area in the mountains you stay it is nice! Some of the best riding anywhere! Don't forget to take a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway best ride without a doubt. We plan on retiring up there in a few years but till then we just go to our cabin about three to four times a year to clear our heads!!!

I go to Gatlinburg often and have never had any problems getting a place to stay walk-in or not. There are many many motels in the area.
