R.o.t rally in austin tx

Not from Houston, but I can give you some info about tickets and stuff. If you haven't preregistered, you be shelling out $60 for a weekend pass. There is no charge to get into any of the action on 6th St., unless you go into a bar that has a cover charge. The rally itself is pretty wild, but we aren't even getting tickets this year tho. IMO the music lineup sucks azz, and there are more gocarts and 4-wheelers than bikes out there. Can't tell you how many times I was cut off by some drunk azzhat last year on a golf cart or ATV. We're saving $60 and sticking to 6th St. and the Hill Country, Austin has plenty to keep us busy other than the fair grounds.

Since the City of Austin is boycotting AZ, I am boycotting the City of Austin and ROT rally this year.

If you've never gone before and you have the cash to spare, I would say go for it. If you do go into the fair grounds, make sure you stick around late into the evening and watch the "internal" parade that takes place. There's some wild chit that goes down on that parade route, just don't try to join the parade on a bike, trust me. I wouldn't pay the $60 just for the music though. If ROT doesn't do something in the future about their music lineups, they'll never get another dime from me. For $60 a head, you'd think they can get at least one decent music act. I say eff 'em!!!

Yeah, it's $60 if you haven't pre-registered, and not really worth it unless you have a campsite, or trailer/camper set up there (but it's for the entire weekend). It's damn hot and you will want some shade. It's a lot of fun, but this year we're doing the 6th St thing instead, staying with a buddy in Austin, saves a whole lot more money.
