I have a question for those who have ridden rr337 between Camp Wood & Leakey. If I bail at Camp wood and take hwy 55 up to Sonora am I missing something great just hate to back track for a soso road. Thanks

It all depends on what you like. Taking off on Hwy 55 you would miss RR 335 which contains as section known as the Rollercoaster and some really good scenery. How many have noticed the herd of kangaroo off to the right while going north on RR 335?

All the roads in the area, not just the sisters, are worth a ride in my opinion. 16 going south out of Kerrville, 337 east of Leakey, and others are all worthy rides at least one time.

My least favorite is RR336 going north out of Leakey but others here might enjoy that road the best. Keep an eye out for the wildlife and fallen rocks, have a safe trip!

I have to echo what swestbrook60 said, there are no roads in that area that won't make you happy. Most of the sisters and joining roads were recently repaired and all of them are in excellent condition. Drop by the southwest section of the forum and post your question there. We ride the sisters at several times throughout the year. You'll get some great suggestions for food and brew stops. You'll most likely get some riding company!

Default Wildlife.

Yep, saw the kangaroo's last summer. I agree all the roads in the area offer great riding.
As for watching out for wild life. DO IT! Watch out that is. I had a doe run into my lane going the same direction as me. Luckily I shut it down pretty quick she got in front of me and stayed there for 50 to 60 yards. Scared the $h!T out of me. Had a good laugh afterwards though.
