Default Where to stay in Moab, Utah

I am planning a trip (with the help of BlackBastard) to southern Utah for September. We plan to trailer the bikes from Indy to Moab so we can get there quicker and ride more once we get there. We plan to start in Moab. What motel would you suggest? Do you think they would let us park our truck and trailer at the motel for the week if we stay there the first night and the last night?

Also, what motels are close to the brew pub?

we stayed at the Best Western.. it's sort of middle of town.. but Moab is not that big so you are not far from anywhere else in town.. We did have a hard time finding a good cup of coffee(in the evening).. had to go to Macdonadls??.. The Best Western has room to park your truck and trailer but don't know how they feel about it.. they also have a good washer/dryer setup..

The Moab Rim Campground has camping cabins with kitchenette and indoor plumbing. They also have cabins without the indoor plumbing. They have plenty of parking. 888.599.6622 Tell them what you want to do maybe pay for a camping spot or something. Our jeep club has stayed there a couple times. Lone Star Jeep Club Dallas. Moab Brewery is awesome. Great breaksfast at the Moab Diner.

Good news- Once you get west of Indiana the speed limits are the same for motorcycles as for trailers. No need to bother trailering, and you can enjoy the whole trip.

Big Horn Lodge is next door to the Brewery. Red Stone Inn is across the street. Moab Valley Inn is about 1.5 blocks away.

Well, that's great that you can make as good time as in a cage. Not me, I need to stop more often and for longer periods of time when riding my bike on long rides. Plus we can drive further because we take turns driving while the other sleeps. We may drive 26 hours straight through. Can you do that on a bike?

What are you looking for, a better quality room or a deal? Moab has the whole spectrum. In most cases you don't have to worry about trailers because they accommodate them all the time with everyone who pulls their 4x4s and rock buggies into town.

Here's a few options of where we've stayed.

A more expensive place on the north end of town is the Archway Inn. It is on the newer side, has nicer rooms, a great breakfast, pool/courtyard, and plenty of parking. You will have to ride a couple of miles into town to eat and buy goods and services.

In the middle of town is the Best Western and has additional parking in the parking lot and a nearby lot, but they've started construction on something out front as of a few weeks ago. Has a great breakfast. Rooms are a bit older, but decent. Location in the middle of town is a big plus if you don't want to drive to bars and dinner, but STAY AWAY from Pasta Jays right on the near corner.

The LaQuinta is close to town and within walking distance of the Moab Brewery. Moderately priced (as far as Moab goes), good breakfast and decent rooms on the newer side. Within walking distance of a few places but you may want to ride into town for more access. Cheesy pool and hot tub but not bad and trailer parking.

If you're looking for cheap there are cabins available at many of the campgrounds for less the half price of other rooms. Most come with TVs and some even have bathrooms and wi-fi.

Let me know if you have any questions. Been going there for 25 years and have stayed in almost every place there.
