My best trip ever was from SE Wisconsin through MN, SD, into WY and then into Idaho. I will have to be honest though MN and most of SD were pretty boring via the freeway. Stopped in the badlands....very cool. On to Yellowstone and through, just frickin cool. We stayed at the lodge in Grand Teton National Park. Nothing like waking up, stepping out your door to see the Tetons.....awesome. Had to ride into Idaho Falls to get brake pads for my dad and a chain for my bike. There was no MC shops anywhere in Jackson Hole at the time. On the way back we hit Sturgis 99' for a night.....pretty cool, but if you've been to one huge bike ralley you've been to them all, same ol, same ol. Then back homeward bound. Hell of a trip in 7 nights.
