Update: We did a total of 1600 miles round trip. Rode 650 miles today, to get home ahead of the nasty storm that was coming in an affecting the entire southeast, as we did not want to have to lay up for 2 days with nothing to do. Not that we mind riding in a bit of rain, but because all of our activities were outside. We left Savannah, GA this morning at 9am and the rain was right on our heels (literally) - rode thru a few showers. The rain chased us up I-95 to Fayetteville, NC and on to Roanoke Rapids, NC, then we were in the clear. We got back to our home town at 9:30pm - not bad for 650 miles, 3 stops for fuel and 1 stop to eat some NC BBQ.
