I guess I've just had bad timing..we use to go scuba diving in central Florida in Feb/March because its too cold here..temp in Florida was great but it was usually overcast or raining.. it always seem to clear up as we were on our way home.. Maybe that was a hint..

Because of my wife's business we may have to move our trip to first weeks of January. How is the weather in January?

Claude... I moved here from Canada 20 years ago, i have not yet seen many days here in North Carolina that i couldn't ride....Yes after 20 years i am "southernized" but still can handle the cold pretty good...North or South Carolina would be fine...Private Message me and i will give you my e-mail and you can contact me later...I Can help you find a place to park your Car and trailer right close to Interstate 95...8 hour drive from the Florida Border.

Good luck in the planning... I live about 30 minutes from 95. I think i met 2 couples from Joliette last winter that drove all the way to Florida on the Ultras...

Y fait pas frette icitte l'hiver....

Being in Savannah area...South of I 26 in South Carolina and as far north on I 16 as Macon area.
There have been a few yrs of rain in February, and yes that seems to be the rainy "season"...sometimes.

Temps could be in the 40's to the 70's... count of the 50's for the sure bet

No, hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 31. Any other time he is safe. A hurrican has so much warning though, there is no reason why a tourist can't find his way out of the path by just wandering north far enough.

I would go as far as the northern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway, ride the Parkway down to the end, drop down to Florida's panhandle somewhere between Pensacola and Appalachicola, follow the coast down to Naples, cross Alligator Alley, loop down to Key West and come back up the East coast. You'll find Florida is H-U-G-E. Give yourself 8 or 9 days of riding and the rest for trailering to and from Canada. Too bad you have to use the trailer at all. Hate those things and what they have come to mean but you are covering a huge amount of distance so it's understandable....
Have a good ride!!
