Anyone comeing to the nc mountains can assume that there will be parts of the brp that are closed. There is a ranger staion at asheville that info can be check with when in the area and pickup atleast a western north carolina map or better the wally world NC atlas and gazetter to find some rides that just don't show on a gps at 1/4mile scale. Weather from now on will if be ever changeing too. Next day and a half will be ran and warmer then back to the mid 60's maybe with lows in the 30's again after the rain.. October typicaly has good rideing weather, till mid november. Time will tell.. Just don't let the br change ride planes ,to many great side roads around .

Another little tip for western NC is that I-40 is also closed from mile marker 20 into Tennessee. There was a rock slide this past weekend that has the whole thing shut down. This will add some more cages on the back roads. Just a little tip for anyone going into that area of NC and Tenn.

And those back roads.. If you were comeing across I-40 and now can't get thru, take the Newport exit and take hi-70 all the way to Waynesville ,thats about 7 or 8 minutes from asheville and the ride from newport over to wayensville takes about 50 minutes. Most good wide road. And you can stop at Barabrosa's along the river in Tennessee. There are some roads that run from hotsprings back towards maggie valley but bring a western NC map at least or your lost.
