Thanks to everyone for your input to our ride route in July !!!!

This looks pretty much like the final route http://rideplanner.harley-davidson.c...r/share/277180

Anything obvious to you guys that I've missed ? Only route we are doing that's not in the HD planner is Custer State Park and a bunch of roads around Black Hills and Badlands.

Only 26 weeks until we leave Australia for NYC

Wow, outstanding ride route. Taking in a lot, and still missing alot. All in all tho, you're going to have an awesome ride. A word of caution about riding 96 across Michigan-watch your time closely because the high speed ferry out of Muskegon does not wait, and if you miss your boarding time without letting them know like 24 hrs or so ahead (check that fact for your edification) you lose your seats and have to re book seats. When we went across a few years back the lake was like glass-it was surreal-I hope you all have a ride like that. I'm located in Ohiio barely south of Columbus. If'n you were closer I'd hook up with you for a few miles on your way through. Too bad.

Have a great ride and keep the rubber side down, the shiney side up!

Mike

Consider adding this section to your ride.

In seligman you have the Snow Cap in a true RT66 town (havn't been myself, but looking forward to it)

Then you have the GG caverns (also havn't been yet)

Then you've got the town of Oatman

Great western town. Popular spot at the annual Laughlin River Run and for anyone riding thru this area any time of year. The ride from Kingman to Oatman is mighty twisty and a good road with great scenery.

From Oatman go towards Fort Mohave, cross the river into NV and pass the AVI casino/resort, then head up to the casinos of Laughlin.

From Laughlin you can head east thru Golden Valley (nice ride) then up to vegas. Or you can head west to NV 95 and on up to Vegas.

Hardest thing, imho, when mapping a trip is working within an alotted time frame, still seeing as much as you can from stop to start, and still have time to 'smell the roses' along the way.

I'd like to take a year and try to see everything before getting back home.....and I live here. Can't imagine the enormity of doing it coming to the US as a visitor.
