Default Ten days riding the NW

The last two week of July 2009 I and four friends rode from western Washington State meeting in Coeur d’Alene where we set off on a ten day ride through Glacier National Park then south to Bozeman MT. Then to Yellowstone National Park (north entrance) and east to Cody via Beartooth Pass and Red Lodge MT. From Cody we crossed Yellowstone east to west Dillon ID. Next stop was Ketchum ID followed by Boise then Riggins ID. Our last leg prior to heading home was the ride back to Coeur d’Alene. Only two rain events interrupted what was perfect riding weather. We have a plan to gather again next year and ride British Columbia. The following web link provides pictures and maps of the route with a better written description: http://weenerbagotails.blogspot.com/...run-day-1.html

Checked out your blog. Looks like you all had a great time. My wife and I traveled through Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and back through our home state, Oregon on portions of the same route you took. The Northwest scenery is hard to beat as are the roads. Thanks for sharing!

Did a lot of the same area this year, spent 14 days meandering from Vancouver, through the various states ending up in Sturgis to meet our friends from Nova Scotia, then a quick 2-1/2 days back to Vancouver.

Some links to our pics that I did up and posted on Youtube (couldn't get it all into one clip so did three).

Had a great time, looking forward to the next long ride.

"To most people, the road is a means to get somewhere...to the Rider, the Road is Somewhere".

That pretty well sums it up!

fatboylust,

That sounds like a great trip.

We met up with some family from Washington and Oregon at West Yellowstone this year and cruised the "park" as well as Bear tooth to Cody.

Good times!

I wish I could remember the name of the motel that we met/stayed in West Yellowstone.
It had an underground garage for bikes
