Natchez Trace ride
#11
We kept running in & out of rain all day Sat. We will ride it some more later in the fall.
We started around Franklin and rode it about 125 mi. to hwy 72. We spent the night in Corinth,MS & rode back hwy 72 the next day. We didn't stop a lot except at the
Merriweather Lewis site & the double arch bridge around Franklin was a real pretty view.
It would have a real peaceful ride if not for the rain. The park is very well groomed.
Watch for the wild turkeys, they're every where.
Even a ride in the rain is better than no ride at all.

leadman,
Sorry to hear it rained on your ride. You sure got the best parts of the Natchez Trace Parkway! The ups and downs, twisty turnies, and great scenery are from Franklin where you started down to about Meriwether Lewis Park.
Did you have a chance to visit Grinder's Stand tavern where Meriwether Lewis was fatally shot?

Was it murder or suicide? (Where is CSI Miami when you need them?)
Riding the Natchez Trace south from Hwy 72 is not much to see or do (except a quick stop at the main visitor center in Tupelo, MS). A real snoozer IMHO. Just watch out for bears taking photos.
