Deals Gap- the dragon

Just a thought ...
When we go, we stay in Gatlinburg at the Edgewater Hotel. While it isn't the cheapest around, and the accommodations are just average, it is very adequate. And the BIGGEST reason we stay there is that it has a
COVERED and GUARDED PARKING GARAGE.
That might not mean a lot to some ... but it's a deal sealer for us. It's nice to get on the bikes in the morning and not have to deal with moisture everywhere. Not to mention how much better I sleep knowing they are "safer than normal".

I took the dirt bike up there back in June. I stayed at Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge 2 nights. I slept in the back of the truck but they have cabins right on the creek - very posh. They also rent tents for the hard core. Good clean place.
They parked me near the tents across the creek from the main lodge. Had a great spot. We put in two eight hour days on trails around there. It was a fantastic place to come home to.

+1 for Ironhorse. I stayed (camped) there in July, beautiful setting, really good people running the place. I'll look first for vacancy there next trip up.
