Default SF to Denver

Looking for a bit of input on this trip. Mostly, I'm curious about the weather / road conditions in mid-September.

Edit: got what I needed. Thanks.

You should be fine, though there may be the freak storm in the high county passes that may hold you up a day, if it happens. Otherwise, no big deal. Should still be 80s and nice.

You doing I-25 to I-70 and then west? I'd take back highways if I were you. I-25 north of Denver has a lot of construction and is just plain boring on a bike.

But to answer your question, you should not have any problems, but just check the weather as you normally would. The myth of Colorado and snow is what allows us to have so much open space!

Prolly the best time of the year to ride in Colorado. Bring clothes to layer, and rain gear. Might also consider dropping down from Laramie to Ft. Collins rather than I-80 to Cheyenne and south on I-25 to Denver. The Laramie-Ft. Collins is a beautiful ride and cuts some time off for you.

I don't know about the area West of Colorado. My wife and I made the trip from Tulsa to Denver last September, via Albuquerque and Colorado Springs. We saw some snow in Golden, and the mountains around there all had snow on their tops (which may happen year 'round). But we didn't have to travel thru the Rockies to get there.

One thing I know, take your leathers! It was pretty chilly there when we were there.

Thanks for all the info. I think at this point, the only real concern is getting through the Nevada desert.
