Anyone have any experiences with the Red Roof Inn at York PA? Its near the Harley factory in PA. on Arsenal Rd. Already have a place in Gettysburg for "bike week" this weekend but plan on staying a night near York and do the factory tour prior to Gettysburg. Price seems good at the Red Roof at $47. Any other places better/worse?

 

The Red Roof Inn is clean and good for the money. However, the current tour is "watered down" right now due to the new models being produced on the line but not being released to the public yet. The tour will only take about an hour and then you could ride to G-Burg in 30 minutes where there will be more going on.

 

We booked the Motel 6 online for $39.

 

I cant remember the name of the Motel we stayed at in York but it was on Rt 30 right next door to the York Dealership. Nice Hotel, Reasonable price and Clean. This time of year is the Model Year change so you wont get the whole factory tour. It stops before the assembly area. Still a nice tour.

 

It's a pretty good-sized area. Lots of places --- Red Roof, Super 8, Microtel, I've stayed at a Hampton at Mt Zion exit (next exit east on 30) If they're full, Lancaster's only 1/2 hr east on 30. Lots of places there also.

 

Thanks to all.....we did the Red Roof Inn (had a coupon!)....clean,comfortable with no frills. PITA getting in and out of the parking lot. A whole lot of traffic in that little stretch of road. HD dealer right across the street. Abbreviated tour of the factory due to the model year change out but still worth the time and effort. We went to Gettysburg Bike Week for a few days after that. Great rally for those who have never been. We'll probably do it again next year.
