Just got back from a 1100 mile trip from carlsbad nm to poplar bluff mo. We had 30 bikes that went out to drink a beer one day and wound up in poplar bluff mo.

The trip was an adventure to say the least. Between the typhoon in dallas that we rode through this past thrusday to the tornado in texarkana that nearly took a sporster off the road on saturday it was enough to make any biker want to hang up their saddle bags.

All and all the scenery was amazing and the people were more than friendly. They have a way to make and wayward soul feel right at home. The food was great -just dont ask for chips and salsa cuz they dont "have that kind of crap up here" .

So anyways a brother of the road once told me a tradition that old bikers use to do that goes like this

when you arrive at the town you are planning to stay at go to the local bar and have a beer or two. Before you leave ask the bartender to keep a 20.00 bill behind the bar for anyone who shows up from out of state on a scooter. Tell the bartender to say the first round is on you . If that person is from the same state you were from the entire amount or what ever is left goes to that person.

So if ever you are out at the wc club -tell them flashlight sent you down there 2 get a beer.
