Man, I was there this weekend too, did the dragon a couple times, and 28, and a bunch of other roads, w/ the BRP from Asheville on the way back, and down through Lake Lure and all that.
We watched the game on a giant projection screen in the lodge at the http://www.ironhorsenc.com/ it's a real cool place for bikers going to the mountains. I was gonna post a thread about the trip when I get a chance...
Very fortunate on the trip, no issues, good weather, good clean passes on the twisty roads w/ no traffic or wrecks, best time I've had since I went to Death Valley earlier this year...
Matter of fact, I just finally added an avatar, and it's from the Dragon, and I added a sig pic, and it's from the BRP, oh and I did put some pics in my profile of both trips too...

Yeah the trip was great. The roads are the best and most fun I have ever seen. And smooth, not like Michigan roads at all, the Dragon was a blast, I was a little intimidated at first but learned alot about my bike on this trip.
There is a beer store 15 minutes away from the two wheel inn if you want beer, but as far as good food...Breakfast is right down town Robbinsville Lyns place I think. There is a few, and a real nice indy (Wheelers) shop that does it all, if you run into bike problems. Ride safe, have fun.

Rode the Cherohola and the Dragon this past weekend. It was great!
There is a part of 28 that is south of 19 that was very cool. It was not part of hell bender. We road it down to Franklin and then got on Rt 2 (Wayah Rd) back out to rt19. Great ride but watch for some loose gravel on the lower part of Wayah. Very little traffic and no police. Unlike the Dragon. Some people call this the NC dragon.
Two Wheel Inn was very nice. The rooms we have we newly remodeled and very clean. Jamie was very nice. She was very helpful to someone new to the area. I would definately stay there again.
