Default Southern California to Grand Canyon

We left Friday May 8 and returned to Southern California
on Monday May 10.
We had 15 other Harleys to make the trip with. We traveled 1,126 miles in the 3 days. This was an amazing trip. By far some of the best roads I have ever ridden. We had great weather, great people, and great bikes.
Like my wife said, "there's nothing like seeing the Grand Canyon form the back of a Harley"!

Packed and ready...

Meeting @ IHOP Friday early..

Whitewater Grade...

Heading to Yucca Valley..

First butt break...

Riding Southern California desert...

Fuel stop.....

Entering Arizona...

Landscape changes...

Butt break..

Almost there..

Sunset Crater National Park....

Lava flow from eruption of 1,000 years ago...

Wife and myself @ Grand Canyon..

Riding into Sedona,Az.

Breakfast stop in Sedona,AZ.

Packed for trip home..

Butt break..

These are just a few images from hundreds we took. A trip we will remember for always.

Thanks for sharing. Great pics and sound like an excellent trip.

We have a group of 10 or 11 bikes going from Oregon to the Grand Canyone in June, then back up thru Yellowstone will be the major highlights. We are taking 10 days and I can't wait.

Yeah a story or two would be good.

We've been talking about going also. Want to go when it's not too hot. Thinking September before school starts.
Anyway, great pics. Thanks.

OK,,,one story that made me think, and appreciate my Harley even more than I do on a daily basis is this: While at a turnout over looking the Grand Canyon a van load of Indians (From India) pulled in and about 9 of them all men stepped out and I figured they would do like we were doing and look at the big hole in the ground. To my surprise they all were chattering and pointing at our Harleys parked there. They went closer to the bikes and were looking at us almost for permission to approach. Well one of the guys in our group went to them and said it was ok to sit on his bike..THAT did it. They broke out in huge smiles and excitment and started taking turns sitting on his bike as the others took pictures. By then we all went up to the bikes and before i knew it, i was getting my picture taken around the bike with these guys who told us they have seen motorcycles on the road but never so close up...and that there is nothing like this in India.
they were kind and very thankful, and as i rode my Harley out of the Grand Canyon that day I thanked the Lord for where I live and for my Harley.
