I also try to find the little Mom and Pop type of places on my trips. It probably stems from days spent with my Dad when I was just a kid. He always had some little cafe for breakfast and maybe a little country store in the middle of nowhere for a soda from their old cooler. The problem is that these place are getting few and far between. As the owners get older and their kids want no part of the "family business" they are just closing down. I've been through many little southern towns where I stop at the local convenience store (the country store is long gone) and ask for a good place to eat, I get pointed to the local chain store. Sad...

Here is a cafe that is in a town that can't be any smaller. If you can make it to Indiana try this one.
