Cool Southern NJ

Just moved to the area in Sept. Looking for some local points of interest. Somewhere within a couple hours that The wife and I can jump on the bike on a day off and just cruise. I'd perfer to stay off the highways and much rather ride backroads, lots more to see and usally not quite as much traffic. I would really appreciate it if someone could let me know of a couple locations to go to. or even a couple roads with a nice scenic view.

Thanks

Welcome to New Jersey. Go to www.motorcycleroads.com and click on New Jersey and you will see a description of some of the better scenic roads.

Check out the Northeast area of the site to see some of the rides scheduled.

We have a sweet ride planned for May24th you may be interested in. There are a bunch of members coming up from the south to join us.

One of the nicest riding spots in the area is New Hope/Washington's Crossing Area. The ride along either side of the Delaware is nice. You can take 29 from Trenton all the way up to Frenchtown and beyond.

Used to be able to cross into PA at Frenchtown and come
down 32 on the other side but last time we tried the road was blocked due to a washout. Washington's crossing is always nice if you're into history. There's a museum on the NJ side.

There is also a covered bridge tour of Bucks County PA that is sponsored by different dealers in the area. I've never done that one but its sounds like a nice ride. Mt Holly Yamaha is going on one in June. But I think it might be the same time as Americade and we're heading there this year.

And the ride to Historic Batsto in the Pinelands makes for a nice trip. It's a State Park and has nice walking trails and a historic mansion you can tour. Easy to get to.

I also know of a backway to Historic Smithville, Ocean City NJ and Wildwood through the Pinelands.

If you're interested in any I can pm you directions to these places. Or if you don't mind riding with some old farts in their 50s, maybe we can ride together sometime. I don't think we're more than 10 minutes from you.
