I Wish I Would've Remembered to Bring...
Have you ever kicked yourself for forgetting something at home while on a road trip? I'm planning on spending nearly 3 weeks traveling around the US in the last few weeks of July. I think I have a good idea about what I need to take with me, but I'm curious if any of you have said, "Crap! I can't believe I forgot to bring ___________."

"Crap! I can't believe I forgot to bring ___________." my sleeping bag!
So I went to Wally world and bought a sleeping sock kinda thing. It was made of terry-cloth and was on the shelf beside the Snuggles, only cost $10. With all my clothes on it *just* kept me warm. I was only going to be gone for three nights, if it was much longer I would have sprung for a real sleeping bag.

My first trip to Sturgis. Was 8 years ago. Had the bike all loaded my buddy and I headed out at sun up 350 mile ride from here. 2 things happened.....1st we were 150 miles from Rapid City somewhere around Kadoka I was passing a car, Looked behind me to make sure was clear and OFF came my $300 pair of prescription glasses. Had 2 ride the next 150 miles blind as a bat till we got to a pearlvision to buy another pair. 2nd...After the expensive trip to pearlvision we made our way to the camp site got everything off the bikes was ready to put the tent up...f*** forgot to grab the *#$&^ TENT. Was an unblieveable week that made for a great story in the end. But damn that was a long day!

Bring a second set of keys.
Notify your credit card and debit card company (mine is a credit union) that you will be out of town and using the cards alot in other states. They will shut down your cards if they see alot of unusual activity.
Bring the allen wrenchs that fit your axle nut overs, make sure you can loosen them before you leave home. When I broke my drive belt away from home, I had to buy 60.00 of tools and pry off one axle nut cover.
Buy a usb flash drive card, put a few pictures of your bike and you on it, put serial numbers of your bike ect on it. Put some medical info on it and contact numbers on it. If something happens to you or your bike the police or hospital will have some info. Make sure you keep this in your pants pocket on you.
I also bring along a small digital volt/ohm meter and a full roll of good electric tape.
