Retirement road trip down east coast
I'm retiring in May and thinking of a road trip. I would be leaving from Hudson, Wisconsin. I plan on going into Canada, then head to the east coast. From there I would head south to Georgia. Then head back north. Any ideas on places or routes to take Anyone done this, if so any idea on how long it would take without beating oneself up Thanks Arlen

Thats where I'm at I'll be 56 in March she has to work 'til 62. Nice bike. Just trade my '07 Road King Classic in for a '09 Ultra Red Hot Sunglow last fall. Got a couple of hundred miles on before snowballs hit. Added a little chrome, V&H dual ovals, stage one and a little closer to spring I'll put on the PC V.

Sounds like a good trip.
I came up from Alabama to Maine.
Went through all of the New England states on the way up. Rode the coast up and out to the Cape.
Stayed around Bar Harbour a few days. Went on a whale sighting trip. Came back across Vermont and New Hampshire, nice scenery up in the mountains. Watch out for Moose.
Came down through NYC and DC before heading back.
You can take US 50 east over to Ocean City.

Congratulations on your up-coming retirement! By "head to the east coast" are you then wanting to stay close to the coast while riding south to Georgia? Coastal Maine is great but the farther south you go, the more congested it's gonna get. Especially from May on so I would allow for under 300 mile days.

I was on the road a total of 10 days. I stayed in Bar Harbour for three of those days.
The trip for me was almost 5800 miles.
I really needed three weeks but I only had 10 days off work. That's pretty much the way I roll for now.
Can't wait for retirement.
By the way, I have yet to make it to Wisconsin. Hope to make the trip up soon. It's my "Last of the states I haven't been to tour." and they are all up there around the lakes.
