But I thinks that some destinations are too far away from Las Vegas, if you want to come back in the evening ...

I think, I will do the following trips.

1) Death Valley,
2) Red Rock Canyon
3) Zion N.P. (about 300 miles),
4) Grand Canyon, north rim,
5) What's about Area 51 ???? What can you see there??? Ufos?
6) going south via Hoover Damm to bullhead
You can do Zion and the north rim of the GC. If you can there is a great little motel in Mount Carmel Junction The Golden Hills Motel. The price is great and John the owner is very friendly. 800-648-2268

If you REALLY like adventure pass through Colorado City. Stop at their general store.

Default plus one on valley of fire

sorry i don't have any pics to add. but yes, up to the valley of fire then down along lake mead, here are some nice places to stop along the way.
and hit hoover dam before heading back into vegas.
bonnie springs and mt. charleston are also nice small trips, either do both in one day or even an after dinner trip if you haven't had enough by the end of the day.

Another little perk of Mt Carmel Junction:

Ho-Made Pies. Not ho-made tarts, or tart-made pies. They come from Ho's.

Las Vegas is a great place to start riding. Tons of good rides down there. If you do end up going to Mt Carmel, both Cedar Mountain & Brian head, as well as bryce canyon are a short distance. If you do go to bryce, head on through highway 12 up through Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument on highway 12. I've been on ever major road in Utah, and I think that one is my favorite.
