I ran with the stock Heritage seat but had my tourpak in solo mode which was a great help with back support. I have lower back issues and didn't really start hurting bad till I got back in NJ.

Wife and I have plans to ride to Sturgis in 2010 which is around 1800 miles. Wife will be riding her Deluxe.

Your Heritage will take you anywhere.
Dam I was gonna brag about riding my fat boy 710 miles from Nova Scotia to Portland Me mostly in the rain but mt hats off to you. You sir are the man!

Thanks. Probably could never repeat it. It was running on adrenaline. Buddy and me got separated by about 1/2 hrs ride on the Cabot Trail. I'm soaking wet and cold and then find out he's eating dinner in a warm hotel in Sydney.

I was so pissed and so tired of riding in the rain (past 5 days) that I decided to get out of Dodge. I knew that somewhere it wasn't raining and that's where I was going. As it was the rain didn't stop till I got to Ct.

It was a really stupid thing to do. Had my wife worried sick and damn neared got myself killed. I was so punchy near the end that I forget which side was the clutch and which was the brake. Made a wrong turn in Ft Lee and wound up on the GW headed into NYC.

All that being said, I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.

Hey that 710 miles you did in the rain wasn't the first week in Aug was it?

I did just short of 1100 in a FULL DAY (5am to 10pm) on an iron bike ride two years ago.

I did 2400 miles in 6 days, two up with Mrs Harley thru the Smokie Mountains, etc. this summer

I did 1600 in 4 days to Norfolk, VA this past September.

IMO, lower back support is the only item that I would suggest.

The bike can and did handle all travels fabulously. Highway, twisties and in between!

I will hate to see the Heritage Classic go this Friday when the UC is delivered. Warm thoughts on the 39000 miles in 5 years on the Heritage. Mrs Harley wanted more comfort, so, time for a bigger bike!
