Arrived home on Saturday from the 8-day, 11 state trip. Had a great time, with 6 of the 8 days being unbeatable weather!!! My .02 cents; Tail of the dragon was an awesome stretch of road. We rode it on a Monday morning so traffic was minimal. Looking at all the left of center photos at killboy.com will scare you and would keep me away from that place on a weekend. We had dinner at the Bonefish Grill in Asheville since a friend had recommended it; wonderful seafood, very nice/classy place. I had made reservations at a "pride of super 8" motel in Asheville since I'd had pretty good luck with those in the past. Stay away from this one!! It had a wrecked car with flat tires parked right out front of the main door; the whole place looked like the "projects" Smoky Mountain Harley Davidson in Maryville, Tn had to be the nicest dealership I've ever been to. Blue Ridge Parkway was very nice but got kind of old after awhile. The thing I did like about it was CONSISTANCY. It is comparable to a 45 mph interstate in the fact that there is no cross traffic, no stop signs, just smooth riding. Some roads you really have to watch out because 40 mph may be the top speed for one curve and 20 mph may be the top speed for the next. I found the parkways speed limit of 45 to be very appropriate for all curves on it. Anyway, I had a good, safe trip.

I'm sorry that I didn't get around to reading this post earlier. The section of the BRP between Waynesboro and Roanoke, Va. are almost in my backyard. I might have joined you and caught a little breeze.

Maybe next time!
