Here in MO, its a $25 fine I believe. I was just wondering why people wear novelty helmets, instead of DOT helmets. I like going to AR to ride without a helmet, as its alot cooler and just feels good, but I guess I'm missing what the advantage to wearing a novelty helmet over a DOT hemet is.

1. lighter...almost feels like your not even wearing one.
2. Doesn't pose to much resistance to wind at high speeds.
3. Doesn't look like a mushroom on your head.
4. Usually much much cheaper. I got mine for $25.

The cop that stopped all of you was probably a partner in the local stealer, pushing up sales for the month, what a gas, Lol

In FL its choice. Gouing to Tenn in oct and of course be traveling through Police states.
I have a problem with this law cause in Nam we could wear a bush hat and I feel that was more dangerous than riding!! However in America freedom ain't always the same!!!

I have also never worn a DOT helmet and I live in Mizzouri, the reason I don't wear one is they look like ****, heavy and it's my choice....
