Canada - Baniff, Whistler, Vancouver
My brother and I are planning a 5 day trip for August. We were thinking Seattle to Baniff, up to Jasper, across to Whistler, down to Vancouver and then back to Seattle.
Anyone have any great routes or recommendations on what to see, where to eat or where to stay?
Thanks...
Chuck

Just did this trip last month. Our route consisted of leaving Seattle through the Northern Cascades, crossing into Canada in Osoyoos (wine country), up to Revelstoke then onto Banff. \\; From Banff head up to Jasper and then down to Kamloops. \\; Kamloops over to Whistler and down to Vancouver Island via ferry or just head south through Vancouver.  \\;

If you're planing to stay in hotels in Banff and Jasper book your rooms well in advance! And get ready to pay too much, they're serious ski town tourist traps with prices to go with them.
The Icefields Parkway between Banff and Jasper is beautiful, and the riding in the Kootenays is great too. The road between Whistler and Vancouver is a nightmare now with all the construction going on for the 2010 Olympics. They're doing a hell of a job destroying what used to be a really good motorcycle road. The Duffy Lake road (Lillooet to Pemberton) is still fun, though the pavement isn't in the best of shape anymore.

Research the delays on the hwy from Whistler to Vancouver online. \\; I timed it perfectly, only delayed for about five minutes, not bad at all. \\; You are correct that the Duffy Lake road is not in optimal shape, I would still highly recommend it though. \\; Fun ride, just take it slow and be careful.
