I'm heading to WA state in July. My plan has us staying one night in Sioux City, IA and two nights each in Hill City, SD and Billings MT.
So anybody know any good/favorite places to eat in any of these cities?

In Sioux City, try the Green Gables Restaurant on Pierce Street (once you cross the river, there isn't much); Hill City or Billings, I can't say.

there really isnt any other memorable place to eat in Hill City if you dont mind the ride i'd suggest the Fireside Inn on hwy 44 heading to Rapid or you could go to Deadwood for a fancy meal at Jakes. But youll like the Alpine, great desserts..any other questions let me know

Billings....There's at least one member here from Billings. So he may post something different/better
In the downtown area, especially along Montana Ave., there are lots of places to eat. Jake's and The Rex are probably the best steak joints in that area. But there are lots of places downtown. Q is pretty good for Asian.
Montana Brewing Company is a great brewpub on Broadway. In fact they just took an award for best brewpub beer at the Great American Beer Festival last year. Good pub food, too. Also wood-fired pizza.
West Billings has all the chain restaurants planted among the big box stores.
If you're looking for a classic greasy spoon, sorry, I can't help you there. I only get to Billings about once a month, maybe twice, and just eat dinner there.
Edit: Now here's a question: why are you staying two nights in Billings? Don't get me wrong, it's a nice town, but usually vacationers like small-town Montana, e.g. Red Lodge, Livingston, etc.

I wanted to stay away from the chain places and get a little bit of the local flare so I started this thread. So far it's worked out great; Green Gables in Sioux City; Alpine Inn in Hill City; and now Montana Brewing Company in Billings.
Thanks to everybody that sent responses I'm really looking forward to this trip, I've never been to that area of the country. And with everyones help it'll be "Good Eats" all the way as well.
George.

While you are in Hill City, it's worth the trip into Deadwood for the steak. Eat in the casino Wild Bill got shot in. I've been to Sturgis three times and always make a point to eat there each time I go. Just don't go late or you wont get any spuds with your t-bone.
