Default Natchez Trace in April

Planning a trip with about 6 guys for the first weekend in April leaving Thursday 4/3 and getting back to Tulsa on Tuesday 4/8. Planning on leaving Oklahoma on Thur 4/3 getting into Helena/West Helena the first day. Second day (Friday) over to Tupelo onto the Trace then south. Figure we'll make at least Jackson on this day. Saturdayon toNatchez. This leaves us 3 days to get back to Tulsa and am looking for suggestions for these days. The Gulf? West Texas? or maybe back up through central Arkansas to ride in the Ozarks?

Well Arkansas would be a great choice that time of year. Hot Springs would be a good starting point. North via 7 to Harrison is awesome (don't tell any one), then west to Eureka Springs. If the southern route is more your speed then take 270 west out of Hot Springs to Mena. Then take Talimena scenic byway into Oklahoma and 2 north towards Muskogee.

Been here in Arkansas the last 11 years (Chicago transplant). Love the weather, people, and the roads (Ozarks)... like I said don't tell anyone

BTW, I am also planning on traveling the trace this spring from Natchez to Nashville (I love the nightlife in Nashville). Let us know where you ended up staying in Tupelo and Natchez and if you have any tips.

Since Natchez is only about 3 hours from New Orleans, I'd suggest you head down there for a night in the French Quarter then head back via I-10 W

I live in Jackson, and travel the Trace all the time, Jackson is 170 miles from Tupelo and and 120 from Natchez.[8D]
