Looking for some ride routes this spring from Louisville,Ky to Asheville,NC for a weekend(Fri to Sun trip Any ideas?

 

Last fall we had a great mountain ride that would include a good bit of the area you want to cover. From South Carolina we came north then made a loop with some great stops. I have posted lots of pictures and information if you want to check that information out on www.mymotorcycleadvisor.com. When you first sign on use the search bar over to the right and put in Spruce Pine. There are two sections of Mtn Trip that would show some good areas for you to travel through. Hope that helps!

 

Don't forget to hit the dragon tail. A bunch of curves in a short distance, something like 300 in 11 miles. You can purchase pics of you going thru at the end if you want. Good place to eat also. I am sure you will get a lot of info on here if you search the dragon.

 

Forgot to mention a definate do. Blue Ridge Parkway Georgeous ride thru the mountains. Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge the list can go on forever. Little Sturgis in July

 

Here's another one to look at on the map. U.S. 150 in Kentucky to U.S.25, then pick up U.S.25E in Corbin and take 25E to Newport, Tn. At Newport, 25E ends, just turn left onto U.S.25/70 and head for Hot Springs and Asheville. Except for 7 miles of two lane road, the section of 25E from Corbin to Morristown is nice 4 lane. You get to go through the Cumberland Gap tunnel, and there is a good country restaurant in Cumberland Gap called Webbs Country Kitchen. We have gone up to Cumberland Gap just for lunch from here numerous times. It is 100 miles one way and worth it. You get the pleasure of crossing Clinch Mountain, too. Scenic, and a good highway. Hot Springs is scenic also. Asheville is about 44 miles from Hot Springs, if I remember right. Watch for deer if you are on these roads in the evening.
