All a nice route, but by no means is the way to go if you’re trying to make time.
Done this ... Great ride

Little early for colors. But probably 40s on the morning. Maybe colder. September is the best month, not hot, usually dry. Days are getting short though . Keep in mind the opposite midnight sun is happening now.
Copper Harbor and Brockway Mountain Drive are recomended ... Be sure to stop at The Gay Bar ( not that kind of gay )

Gay bar is good because of the name, but I havn't been there in 20 years, and in no rush. I'll go again someday. It nots really on the way to Copper Harbor. UP is full of good bars.

Shutes in Calument is one of oldest bars out there in Michigan. Douglas House in Houghton.

Myself I would skip Canada, if only going for just a day. You run the chance of wasting time in customs, just to go there and turn back. A good trip is around the north shore of lake superior. For some reason it is recommend you do it west to east. That is how I have done it the times I did it. I would not bother going to Canada just to spend the night. Cheaper to stay in US. Plus ontario is a bit Americanized. I would rather go Alberta or Yukon.

I hear ya, 5# bag and 10#’s of ****. Unfortunately when running the major routes you often miss all the charm of the area.

Sure, but it aint on 41. Its out of the way, look at map yourself. I was just in the area. Its far enough, that I have not been there in over 20 years, I am not sure it is worth going just because of it's name and to get a pic. Lots of great bars up there. He schedule seems a little rushed, or atleast he has miles he wants to do per day, I would not sacrifice Brockway Mountain, for the Gay bar.

Keep beating your gums ... Your constant negative comments and your constant efforts to have the last word on ANY topic are ridiculous

What negative topic? Its out of the way is all. Not saying don't go there. Especially if you plan on making a day or more of the area. But people just go there because of the name. Not that it is a bad bar. Douglass House and Shutes are on the way, old time bars. Douglass house is near the college, so it can be full college kids, Shutes gets more attention because of age.B&B in houghton is nice old neighboorhood bar that got re-done few years ago.

I go to Copper Harbor a bit. Vans and Cliffview on 41 north of Calument might be a good stop too, I have not been in them for 20 years, they are closed on Mondays, Last two times I went was a Monday. Calumet has some cool old bars.

Downtown houghton is KBC brewery, which is popular. In Copper Harbor there is a brewery too, have not been there in 10 years. UP has had an explosion of breweries last 10 years.

If you go lake of the clouds, stop in at Stubbs in Ontonagon, that is one you will be glad you did.
