Solo ride in NC and TN hills
The weather was great, low temps and dew points. On Tues., I rode to Robbinsville for three nights as my base. Rode Wed. and Thurs. and back Home on Friday morning. Total miles 1,126 miles. Excellent new pavement on the "Tale of the Dragon". On Wed. rode the TN. Tripple, (The Tail of The Dragon, Foothills Parkway and Cherohala) U-turned back to 129. Then North on 129 to 72 then 68 over to Tellico Plains, TN. Rode the "Cherohala Skyway" back to the Robbinsville. Continued down 28 south to Franklin, NC. 64 west and picked Wayah road back to the hotel... about 295 miles for Wednesday
On Thursday rode to Bryson City and 19 north to Cherokee. Road to Clingman's Dome and u-turned back to the southern end of Blue Ridge Parkway. Clouds at Clingman's Dome. No Pics. The Parkway to Maggie Valley then 276 south to Brevard. Hawg Wild BBQ was not as good as the last time. Got on 64West to Rossman, NC then turned north on 215 north (ridden many times) back under the parkway back to 276. Headed back to the hotel via 19 through Nantahala gorge. About 285 miles for Thursday.
Back home Friday morning about 325 miles. Temps ranged from a low of 50 degrees to highs in late afternoon. close to 80.
I almost got rid of my "Chicken Strips" and making my floorboard studs shorter. I might add to What Cosmic Razorback said, If ya haven't ridden 215 up/down/sideways it is a very good road.

Envious of all the greating riding you all have so close by. This morning was a cool 74 degrees but will be in the mid 95 or higher by noon. But that's better than waking to 83 and nearing 100 by noon. Getting outdoor chores done this morning and hopefully can ride tomorrow morning.
Most people I know can't take the cold as they get older, 90 is their preferred temp. I've always (and still do) liked cooler weather and don't ride when it starts getting close to 90, or at least heading for home by then. You can always add a layer, but you can only take so much off.

I learned on this ride while at the "Punkin Center store" on US 129 that they have trade marked the name "TN Tripple" on their t-shirts. I have ridden these roads many, many times in the past. So, I bought me one ..... like I need another t-shirt. They have real gasoline, no alcohol in it.
