Solo ride in NC and TN hills
#11
ngshop, thanks for the suggestions! I go to WV a couple times every summer from upstate PA, and I "discovered" western NC last year. Wow, what great country down there. I've been on the Cherahola Skyway, Tail Of The Dragon, and 28 down from Deals Gap, bur I'm always looking for suggestions on other great roads. I gave up my bike a couple years ago because of hip arthritis. It never bothered me in the car though, and now I'm doing the twisties in a little Mazda Miata, and having a blast. Sounds like you had a nice ride.

Great. Thx. I have a couple friends in Franklin anyway, so that'll work out great. There are a few other things I wanna do anyway, like Grandfather Mountain & Chimney Rock, amd Wayah Rd just happens to be one I looked at on Maps, and thought it looked like a fun ride.

Quote DRZRider I love the bike! How does the lean angle compare to standard Road Glides? Is it any better?
Lean angle seems to be similar to my 2015 FLTRUSE. '24 CVO Road Glide is about 32 degrees and an inch higher ground clearance. Seat height is lower, floorboards are narrower. So far I have been able to drag (slightly) the floorboard studs, but not the floorboards themselves. My old '15 floorboards were worn down razor sharp..... and the studs were substantially worn. All in all seems better, but I am still getting acquainted with the '24! Besides I am getting older and trying to slow down. It rides and corners better than any H.D. I have ever ridden (Touring Bikes) and I have sampled a few.
