Vermont/New Hampshire

From Mt Washington to The Weirs, we went back up North on 16 to Route 2 West then South on Route 3 stopping at The Notch and the memorial plaza for the Man on the Mountain. Then 3 to Lincoln (lots of places for lunch) back East on the Kancamagus to Conway then we wandered 16 south to 25 southwest towards Meredith and then back to 3 South into the Weirs. Weirs Beach is the epicenter of Laconia Bike Week if that interests you in any way, lots of places to check out, Laconia HD, Lakeside Avenue and all of the bars.
We also hit Newport on the way to the Orient Point ferry for lunch, dealership about 45 minutes away recommended the Brick Alley Pub, good food and free MC parking across the street. From there was about an hour to the ferry.

I知 planning a trip soon to spend a few days in Vermont than will be heading to New Hampshire. I知 looking for suggestions on roads to ride in both states. Really looking for some nice curvy off the beaten path roads. Haven稚 done too much riding in Vermont but did ride smugglers notch road last year, and some surrounding roads. I致e done mt Washington auto road Kangamangus,Hurricane Mountain Road and some others but would really like to hear some other suggestions(will travel into Maine also). Thanks in advance Justin
If you make your way Nwest towards RT 2 in Mass you can take the Mohawk trail and connect to 100 into Vt in North Adams. From there stay on 100 until Hancock and turn left on to 125 and head towards Middlebury. If you want a cool experience stay at the http://www.wayburyinn.com/. From there you can head towards Bristol and take RT17 over the mt and then head south on 100 again towards Stockbridge then 107 towards Bethel then take VT12 to Woodstock.
Both Middlebury and Woodstock have many options to stay. That's a full 2 days with stopping for pics and breaks.
From VT-NH take 106 s out of Woodstock to RT44 to Ascutney to rt5 too Winsdor and you can cross the Cornish covered bridge into NH take 12a north towards Lebanon and get on rt89s to exit 17 and take rt4 east then rt4a near Mascoma lake and take that to Andover where rt4a ends on rt11--go left and just past a gas station and Bellettetes Lumber on your left you will take rt4 to Danbury in Danbury take a right on 104 and this will take you to Meredith ,at the intersection of 104/3 turn left and you'll see Laconia Harley dealer on your right. 3 south takes you to Weirs beach -3n then rt 25 n takes you to rt 16 to Conway. I suggest finding time to ride rt 153 between Conway and Wakefield. You can also take 3 n to Lincoln/Woodstock area out of Meredith then cross on 112 [Kanc] into Conway.
Have safe travels and enjoy!!!!

This is a good route except for the last half (from the Kanc lodge to Prov RI) You're literally cutting out half of the scenic NH roads and opting for boring highway through busy cities. You could go two (or three) ways after the Kanc lodge stop. The lakes region through Laconia is beautiful and obviously a bikers paradise (home of Laconia Bike week). From Laconia you would head towards Maine and ride down the coast, getting some stunning ocean views and some great seafood. In mass you could go to Gloucester /Cape Ann, continue through Boston and down the south shore of Mass with more seaside views. Option 2 would be to leave from the Kanc lodge and go south west through the Sunapee and Monadonck regions of NH. You could go through the mountainous parts or follow the CT river through the VT/NH border. Head through Brattleboro VT (or Keene NH) and head down through central/western mass along the Quabbin reservoir, passing the Worcester area and into RI from the CT side.

good advice, I would vote for option 2.

Actually that is somewhat what I did. I left 2 days earlier than planned so I had the time and patience to avoid interstates. After Mt. Washington I stayed on route 3. Also rode Kancamagus Hwy , couple of covered bridges, and avoided 95 until about Boston taking the rest of the way to Bristol R.I. where my daughter is attending Law School. The weather was great most days and I did not put on rain gear for the whole trip, 6 days! Had an issue with my shifter loosening. Happened 3 times so I stopped at Harbor Freight to get a tool with more leverage. A ratchet rather than the small Allen key.
