FRIDAYS with FRIENDS
I hope everyone nationwide will use this thread to schedule Friday meet ups with fellow members.
Post pictures, tell about the ride or destination and those that showed up.
Here in NC we like to ride for BBQ.
With that theme in mind I want to extend the first invitation of what I hope will be many.
Friday September 13th
Haywood Smokehouse - Dillsboro (Sylva) NC location
Meet up for lunch at 11:30am
https://www.haywoodsmokehouse.com/
This is 171 miles from my home. I’ll be riding I-40 west through Statesville, Hickory, Marion areas if anyone wants to join me in route. I will roll out at 8 am with a two hour and 45 minute ride. Send me a PM and we’ll share phone numbers and work out the details.

Friday was delayed because of Tropical Strom Debbie. Man we saw some rain!
So it was Saturday with friends!
We all met just a few miles from where we live at 7:30am with KSU at 0800.
We had 7 bikes and 9 people heading west to Maggie Valley. We rode I-40 all the way for time sake. We took a short break just over an hour in for gas a restroom.
Our next stop was at the Twisted Spoke just west of Maggie Valley on hwy 19 for lunch. we ate here years ago, but it is under new ownership and way better than we remembered. The Hatley side car out front belongs to the owner.
Our final stop and reason for the ride was to go to Wheels Through Time. A couple of folks in the group had never been there before. We all wanted to get our tickets for the bike raffle.
A wonderful ride with friends. Thanks Jimmy, Donna, Rob, Ron, Dom, Tom and Dennis.
Dennis and Tom are heading out next week to Colorado. Safe travels!

We were blessed to get another opportunity to ride with friends. Our first stop of the day was to drop off backpacks loaded with school supplies. The Carolina Girl went above and beyond on hers. She was super proud of it.
As you can see we broke Belinda out for this ride and she did not disappoint.
Overall when we got there they already had a good collection of backpacks totally just over 20 received that morning.
We met up with friends David and Tammy who ride the sweet black and blue Road Glide, and with Marc who rides the Wide Glide.
I led the ride and we went north on Hwy 421 out of the twin cities that tobacco built toward Yadkinville.
We leaned right onto Hwy 601 North and then leaned left at Main Street (old US Hwy 421)in downtown Yadkinville and and ran to the end past Junior Johnson’s old estate.
The ride took us to John Boys in Elkin for lunch.
Afterwards we took Hwy 268 over to Wilkesboro and visited our friends at Crossroads HD. It was a happening place with a lot of activity and excitement in the air. I’ve been wanting to get new shoes on Ginger and learned they are having a tire sale in October. They assured me they would take care of me! Thanks guys.
It was a good time with good friends.
Total mileage was 159.
God Bless America
