Canceling the Haywood BBQ run this Friday the 13th due to weather.

The storm coming up from the Gulf is expected to be here on Friday and they are now showing a 70% chance of thunder storms.

My two buddies that were coming both canceled on me today because of the weather.

We will try again another time.

I plan to get up there in a few weeks. Ridden Ark about 5 times but not the ferry. On my list!

 

Since Friday was a washout for most of NC, are there any plans to reschedule the ride to Sylvia Cosmic?

 

Yes, I’m going to shoot for Friday October 4th. We have a lot going on over the next few weeks with work and two rides. The 4th we will be heading back through that area from the Smoky Mt Bike Rally.

Pencil it in and I’ll update as we get closer.

 

Well it is not going to happen on the 4th. We had a place booked for all next week in Tellico Plains for Smoky Mt Bike Week.

We had a phone conference with the other two couples going and we decided to pull the plug on the week. Good call, because the forecast today looks even worse. It cost 10% to cancel but that beats losing $1200 bucks.

I hate it for the promoters and vendors. It is not looking good for Myrtle Beach Fall Rally either.

If you live in the Florida Gulf Coast region, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, NC and SC beware. This storm is expected to do a lot of damage.

Hurricane Helene

 

Yeah this sucks! Looks like we are expecting over 10” of rain over the next two days. I got away from Florida to get away from hurricanes. Just my luck. 🙄
Maybe this fall, or I might get a hankering to head your way.

 

you guys need to move over to the eastern side of the state where we don't get hurricanes...

But seriously there's a reason our NHL team is named the Carolina Hurricanes.

 

I have a job and no vacation left so I have to "work" on Friday. And, I don't have any Friends. But if you guys head somewhere within about 100 miles of me, I'll do my best to make it. Hope you western folk get through the storm OK. My buddy in Tampa posted a video of his dog swimming in their living room. Not good.
