Anyone have any suggestions on what the best areas of the Ozark Mountains to ride. What's a good area to base out of, what has the best mountain twisties, etc.......Planning on going in September.

The pig trail (Hwy 23) out of Ozark is a must. One of my favorites is Push Mountain Road (Hwy 341) that goes from Big Flat to Norfork. Many, many great roads here. I've attached a link for a free state guide to Arkansas motorcycle roads.

HD in Eureka Springs had a ton of information after we got into town on all of the local rides, including paper maps. They also had a BBQ joint down the road. Eureka Springs makes a good home base if you are going to be there for several days, and their downtown is fun.

Arkansas Has better riding than Missouri IMHO. I like riding HWY 7 from Harrison to Russellville . Tons of good roads in Arkansas.

Easy to get in areas of limited gas in Ozark nat forest area...70 miles or more if you are playing... probably find regular but not high octane. Might map that out in advance

Some great loops in that AR motorcycle guide. But look at changing them as well. One could double back on other small/back roads and still do the loops. The loops often go right by GREAT roads. Almost all roads in the North east quarter area are great. They try to include stops and facilities and often get on major hi ways

If you do Push Mountain..aka 341.... Allison to Melbourne on Hwy 9, Blanchard Springs, Mountain View, 87 are all worth a look

Petit Jean and Magazine are with a look... but will take some flat straights to get to

East of Eureka Springs there is a ferry that will point you up towards Branson, can't remember the name of the road to get you there. And someone here recently posted about crappy road conditions on the Talimena Skyway if that was in your plans.....

Ham Pat, Peel ferry. AR 125 north of Yellville. 125 on up into MO is great road, too

Talimena and area are worth a look. Road SHOULD be better, but it isn't horrible bad... just have to watch for the bad areas. Big hills in that area and lots of overlooks

Last year we based just to the East of Rogers. This sept we'll base just outside of Eureka Springs. Harley has some ride maps of the area. Lots of good roads to choose from.

This is the one we had last time. Pretty much Harrison based.
