Default S. Texas route

I am seeking advise on the best motorcycle route from La Porte Tx to Marfa. I would like to avoid the interstate when possible. I would like to go out across the southern area and return with more of a northern route. I have looked but not much is said about the southern area of the state. Thanks in advance

@mud Perhaps you could chime in and give him some tips and suggestions?

That's the route I'd take, you get to cruise along the coast, and then into some wide open desert/mountain landscapes. You're alos not far from services like fuel, motels etc should you need them. Just west of Del Rio you'll cross the Pecos, there's a spot to pull over and take in the view, you won't be disappointed. On another note, if you're going to Marfa and you have time to spare, a trip to Big Bend/Terilingua area is always worth it. Let me know if you need any help with mapping this route, this is just a quickee screen shot but I use Cali Moto and can route it and export it

Have fun!

Thanks! I came across 170- west of Terlingua in a car last year and knew I had to get back out with my bike.

Mickey 1450. Can we get a update? I rode all of that area of west Texas a year ago. Davis Mountains . River Road. Big Bend. Chisos Mountains. Are more rugged. The Davis Mountains are more elegant. Do not forget to

visit The Caverns of Sonora.

This is way late for OP, but might be useful to someone in future.

Great pics Old 96, and great rte suggestion Luckiestiff. Perhaps I may suggest future riders to venture more into hill country. More out of the way, but worth it.
