Million Dollar Highway and area in mid Sept.
I'm wanting to see Bent's Fort, then west over to Montrose area, ride some of that, then head south. Other posts have mentioned roads in that area beside the $$ Highway, and I plan to ride some of them as well. Any experience with the weather in that general area, that time of year? I'm thinking I'll be border line with the colder temps of a morning? Chances of snow?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Colorado keeps $Million open year round for deliveries. Most campgrounds close in October 1.
It will very cold Red Mountain and Molas passes. Durango OK.
Early September OK. Late is pushing it.
Check temperatures and highway conditions. Ice on road will be treacherous.

You mentioned "Montrose area, ride some of that, then head south."
You can come down through Telluride area Hwy 145. I stayed in Cortez, Best Western Turquoise. Looks better in pictures , old but pretty clean. Then to 4-Corners. Good time to check 4-Corners off your bucket list if you haven't already.
Have fun on your trip.
