Utah is actually really amazing no matter what road you take. We started by going West from Salt Lake to see the Bonneville Salt Flats, maybe not the best riding but the Flats!!!! Wow!!!! Stayed in Nevada that night then went south in Nevada coming back into Utah via Route 50. You could do two weeks and not see half of it all, great place.

PS 3.2 beer sucks

The North Rim should be at the top of everyone's list. Bright Angel Point is amazing but last time we went we also got over to Point Imperial. Next time out we'll get to Cape Royal.

In Zion, be sure to eat at the Zion Canyon Brew Pub right outside the entrance in Springdale…

PSA

As alcohol content went up in beer, Utah lowered the blood alcohol level for DUI to 0.05 %.

That’s like 1/2 a good beer

I love southern Utah. To me it is the most spectacular part of the country to ride through. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

If you're hitting I-70;

Take 50 from I-70/Grand Junction to Montrose, then see Black Canyon outside of Montrose... take the road down to the damn. Ride 550 from Montrose to Durango... amazing ride!

If you're cutting across near Trinidad on I-25... take 160 from Walsenburg to Durango. It's another great ride!

Ted Nelson's Steakhouse in Montrose is good. I wish Ted's Tacos in Mancos was still open, it would be on my list for you! It was featured on Alton Brown's Feasting On Asphalt show, and was well worth my ride down and back!
