Headed to Utah
#11
So some buddies and I are headed to Southern Utah. Plan to leave the TX Panhandle and cut across Southern Colorado to Durango, then over to Medicine Hat and work our way to Zion Nat'l Park. Back up to Moab, then home...6 days. Any sights, roads, eateries we need to check out? Thanks,

Utah is actually really amazing no matter what road you take. We started by going West from Salt Lake to see the Bonneville Salt Flats, maybe not the best riding but the Flats!!!! Wow!!!! Stayed in Nevada that night then went south in Nevada coming back into Utah via Route 50. You could do two weeks and not see half of it all, great place.

If you're hitting I-70;
Take 50 from I-70/Grand Junction to Montrose, then see Black Canyon outside of Montrose... take the road down to the damn. Ride 550 from Montrose to Durango... amazing ride!
If you're cutting across near Trinidad on I-25... take 160 from Walsenburg to Durango. It's another great ride!
Ted Nelson's Steakhouse in Montrose is good. I wish Ted's Tacos in Mancos was still open, it would be on my list for you! It was featured on Alton Brown's Feasting On Asphalt show, and was well worth my ride down and back!
