Default Colorado Springs to Vegas

Just yeasterday, I did 820 miles from Colorado Springs to Vegas.

While there are many wonderful sites along the way. I was absoulutely astonsihed for the 30 miles in Arizona. I15 there is amazing. When I go back Sunday, I will take a few picks. The entire ride was worth that that 2 hours.

That is a huge ride in one day. Which route did you take to get to I15... Did you take 24 to 70? or did you go around to 470 to 70? I am planning on going to Vegas myself and was just wondering which way you took. Enjoy the ride back and ride safe. HAGO! Remi

I rode up I25 to C470 to I70.
I like very long rides. The trip back was however, a bit damp. At Grand Junction it began to rain and rained for the last 300 miles.

I rode from CS to Vegas (and back) a couple of years ago. What a greta trip. But it took me 4 days out and three days back. We stopped for tourist stuff along the way.

If you ever do that trip again, here's what we do and I highly recommend it. Head towards the "Four Corners" area (Cortez, CO) and head to MEXICAN HAT, Utah and get gas, then back-track a few miles and take the turn-offto Moki Dugway. Check the internet (search) for Mookie Dugway, it's spelled a couple of differnt ways. Then continue NNW to Hanksville, Utah for a very friendly stay at any of the motels there. Then head west and go through Zion Nat'l Park to I-15. Then you'll also get to experience the I-15 "Virgin River Gorge" on the way to Vegas.
