Default Monto, Queensland, Australia.

Here's a few pics of a recent trip we did to Monto. 1200km all up and it was a great trip.

Lucky dog! Australia was the most beautiful and friendly country I've ever visited. Would love to go back. Looking forward to more photos!

I'd love to do America but that will be when the kids are off our hands and the corona crap is under control

Nice pics thanks for sharing. Great to see while we're waiting for spring in Canada.

I can't wait for Winter here. Sounds strange doesn't it? Our temperature in Brisbane rarely gets below 7°c, or as you'd say 44°F. I normally travel into New South Wales to find the colder weather, but corona has put a stop to that

Please choose carefully where you travel here, Bob. We have the good, the bad and the ugly. We came into port in Sydney during Operation Kangaroo III with the Marines, took some leave, met my wife there who flew in from Hawaii...LONG ago, around 1980. Had some of your local, bland to American standards, food. Your pints were to die for, and we got a bit "pissed" with some friendly locals. They looked at me like I was nuts when I asked for Pancakes, Eggs, sausage and syrup for breakfast. We sailed off the coast of remote Queensland to the bush, but walking distance to the sea. I have not a clue where we were.

Made beach and helicopter landings with the Australian Army in that joint training exercise. So much dust from the helos, we ate and drank sand for days. Had a fantastic rapport with your forces. Fun-loving people! We exchanged some uniform items, covers (hats), etc. Your country seemed a paradise to me. I even looked into leaving the service and relocating to Australia with my family to work in the medical field, since I was a combat medic. I would have needed to finish school there, and they wouldn't take me as a resident. You had very strong immigration policies then, which I fully endorse and appreciate. If only the USA would have followed your lead. I hear that has changed. Anyway, G'day mate, and happy new year!
