Yeah Matt does a great job and has some good rides. My daughter and son-in-law lived in San Franisco for just over two years. I came close to flying out to rent a bike, but it was during covid lock downs and I felt like it would be a disaster. Have you been over to the covered bridge just south of Asheboro? One destination we enjoy for a nice lunch ride is down to Pinehurst.

This summer the Carolina Girl and I did a few local poker runs and several bike nights including Lexington and Winston-Salem. We met a few folks we like hanging out with and two couples live near us which is convenient. One of the couples is active in the HOG chapter at Smokin HD in Winston and has been inviting us to visit a meeting. We used to be very active in the Statesville HOG Chapter from 2008 to 2014. I served at safety officer, activities director, assistant Director and Director. We really burned out and left to just enjoy riding and started making more long distance trips. Tonight we went to their meeting and really enjoyed it. I was first shocked at the number of people there. They have a big HOG room and there was at least 40 people, maybe more. I really enjoyed hearing about the recent rides the chapter did as well as hearing about two members BIG rides. One rode to Washington State, down through California, through Death Valley and hit a lot of the cool places back to NC. Total ride was one month long with 8300 miles.
We joined up and really feel good about being a part of this group. They meet on Tuesday's and feed you prior to the meeting starting. The food was good also!
The director is a lady named Sandy. She is a very serious rider herself and shared one of her recent trips also. She has been the director for 4 years, loves it and wants to continue unless someone else wants it worse. That was always the problem at our other chapter. No one wanted to step up. They gave away four $25.00 gas cards tonight and the guy that won the 50/50 walked out with $143.00.
They have a couple of rides coming up this weekend, but I don't think we'll be able to make these. We'll see, one really interests me.

AMCA at Denton Farm Park
Antique Motorcycle Club of America at the Denton Farm Park.
The Carolina Girl and I rolled out Saturday morning at 0730 with the temp-o-meter registering a brisk 49 degrees. The sun was rising fast with a promise to hit the low 70's. We ran over to some friends house and picked them up for the ride to Smokin HD in Winston-Salem. A total of 12 bikes and 2 trikes showed up for a nice all back roads multi turn ride to Denton that also included (by accident) about a 1/2 mile of dirt. The closer we got the more bikes we saw riding in.
We spent three hours at the park and walked around to see all the vendors. They had a ride up where guys and gals came up on their bikes to an announcer and told who they were and where they were from, then proceeded to tell the story about their bikes. Following that the Motor Maids lead a parade of antiques.
Following the event the group went to a local restaurant and enjoyed some good home cooking. Our friends followed us on a back route through Lexington back into Davie County.
Total mileage = 146.7
I had a hard time walking away from this Honda 750. The guy was asking $4k. I asked him what it needs and he gave me a short list of mirrors, lights, signals, etc. I actually like the look even though I don't think the fuel tank is original to a 77. I believe it is later with the locking fuel door. I asked him how it runs and he told be to start it up. WOW, I should not have done that. It fired instantly, sounded very strong and all four cylinders reved in unison. I started to through out $2500.00 but felt I just did not need a project at this time.
