All good things have to come to an end. The last night we had a thunderstorm with heavy rain. It made for a good nights sleep.
Time to turn in our key, load up and say goodbye. We really enjoyed this stay and the folks at the Inn make you feel like family.
We took a detour back home and ran Hwy 264 over to Swanquarter and Little Washington. I have had this road on my radar for some time. It is a long lonely route with almost nothing for miles including no cell service! A couple of photos along that route.

I sure hope so. There’s a steak dinner waiting for you. I look forward to having the opportunity to show you around and log a few miles.
Okracoke is very nice. We taken the short and the long ferries out there and enjoy it. Have never stayed on the island.
If running south on 12 toward Hatteras you will not recognize the area when you cross the Oregon Inlet. That is the low narrow area that always flooded. The dunes now are 50 foot high. You cannot see the ocean and feel like you are in a crater. Then you see the new over 5 mile long bridge built in the bay that when open will take you right to Hatteras Island. If will solve a lot of problems but it has totally changed the landscape.

Well let me know as well. Rocky owes me a set of steak knives. Plural. Don't let him tell you anything different.
That meet-up would be a nice way for me to collect. At a steak dinner.
