Kites. Hard to get good shots with a cell phone. These things were huge and really out there.

The inlet came under attack. These guys dive bombed in and then circled a few time and did some rolls. Pretty cool!

North Carolina to Florida Year End Christmas Ride 2019

Day 6

Praise be to God for what looks to be another nice day.

We slept in today. It was decided the theme of the day will be “Slow Motion”!

Once up and rolling it was laundry day and we headed 9/10ths of a mile to Beach Laundry. We were the first to arrive, but two other families showed up shortly afterwards. Both were there for Christmas also and staying in their campers. They had a lot more laundry then we did. So fast forward and about an hour later our drawers are clean and folded, in the tour pack and it’s time for a late breakfast. We head back to Bagel Heads and wow that place was crazy. Not a parking spot even for a bike and people standing out the door. Must have been a three for one sale or something? No problem there is a breakfast place 100 yards down on the opposite side and we rolled in there to also find a huge line waiting. No one wants to cook the day after Christmas! So even though breakfast sounded good it was now 11 am. Well in no time we cruised by a Popeyes and yes, we finally enjoyed one of their popular chicken sandwiches. It was good!

Looking at the map we decided to cruise Hwy 90 up the bay and check out the Bluffs. While nice not exactly what we expected. At this point the temps shot up to the low to mid 70’s and I actually got hot. I told the wife I was done and needed a little down time. We cruise back to the hotel and I took a two-hour nap. We had planned to go to Salt Grass tonight for a steak, but the wife suggested we stay in, rest and do room service since Friday is check out day. We ordered in a nice dinner and I was down for the count by 8pm.

Total miles for the day was 57.

Total hours of sleep were 12!

It was a good day.
